Father Sebastian Dabovich was born in San Francisco in 1883 to immigrant Serbian parents. He studied at the Theological Academies in St. Petersburg and Kiev and was tonsured a monk while in Russia. He was ordained to the priesthood in San Francisco in 1892 and as a true apostle to America he traveled throughout the country establishing new parishes and throughout the world enlightening people with knowledge of the true Church born on the first Pentecost. He died in Serbia in 1940 and was buried by another saint who is important to all Americans–St. Nikolai Velimirovic. His relics have only recently been returned to Jacksonville, CA, to a parish he founded.

Some of the homilies in this book are introductory, about the immortality of the soul, the true Church, Revealed Religion. Some are on Orthodox praxis and some on the Gospels of Great Lent and other feast days.
