Kindling the Divine Spark by St. Theophan the Recluse
Wednesday, July 9th, 2008Homilies orginally addressed to Nuns on various feast days. This is an incrediblly inspiring book to help warm your heart and your prayer. The homilies make short reads for those who can’t work in longer readings. My question is, why is it just sitting there like last year’s reader’s digest? Although this book is not out of print and you can find used copies on the web for as much as $60. Well, the book is worth a lot more than that but you can get it from any Orthodox bookstore for the publisher’s price.
Icons
Thursday, June 19th, 2008Come in and see our wide selection of mounted and unmounted Icons. We carry both prints and handpainted icons in all the most popular saints, from large wall icons to small pocket icons.
Hand painted miniature icons from Bulgaria
The details on these icons are pretty incredible. We got a St. George and a Mother of God and 2 St. John the Baptist. And a very lovely Triptych of the Mother of God with two angels. and a carved backside. Very nice.
Also a St. Nicholas and a hand carved angel pendant. Of course these are limited to what is on hand. So come and see.
For larger handwritten icons we have about a dozen icons painted by Mary Wolski in a kind of folk style.
And there are always mounted and unmounted prints of a large number of icons, saints and feasts.
